Sunday School: Ages 4-7, Ages 8-12, preteen – high school

At St Marks each Sunday Morning there is Children and Youth Ministry (Sunday School) for those aged pre-school to the end of high school.

Worship and talk with our Minister

The Children and Youth stay in the sanctuary to worship at the start of the service and then have a time with the Pastor (called Youth Time in the bulletin) which is about 15 minutes into the start of the service. Following the first part of the service each Sunday, many of our children and youth go with their teachers to Sunday School. Children who are visiting are invited to join in!

What Happens Downstairs?

As soon as the children and youth are downstairs, they are led by Maxine Fox (Sunday School Coordinator), or one of our dedicated Sunday School teachers.

Each Sunday they focuses on a bible story, and/or a verse from scripture.

  • The children often make art projects to help reinforce their learning.  A time of play is also incorporated into Sunday School classes.
  • They also engage in games and/or activities that help to deepen their faith and understanding of the bible.
  • Our Sunday School classes are also designed help children and youth connect faith with today’s world.  All children and youth are welcome and encouraged to join us downstairs for some faith, fun and fellowship!

At St Mark’s we are committed to providing a loving and safe environment for all children and youth in our congregation. To help us in this regard we have signed onto and implemented the Presbyterian Church’s nation-wide Leading With Care policy. https://presbyterian.ca/leading-with-care/
